Dear Choirmates:

It has been a while since you last heard from me so I thought I should give you a quick update on our choir project. Yes things have slowed down considerably, but I am not ready to give up yet. The project is still alive as I continue to attempt to locate choirmates. I have found that it is difficult to interest choirmates who performed before 1963 (which is understandable since their choirs are not featured on the CDs). However, this project is about the history of Highland Park, Michigan and its tradition of choral excellence, not about one class’s performance.

Just a reminder, I am still looking for concert choir memorabilia, especially copies of pictures and LPs of concerts. I need a copy of the concert choir photos for 1968 and 1969. If someone in that class can scan or copy their yearbook choir photos and send them to me, that would be helpful. I now have a copy of the 1961 Christmas LP, but I have been told by some of you that you have LPs from other years. How about sharing them with us? I am also saying my prayers every night before I got to bed for another miracle and this time the tapes for 1964 and 1968 spring concerts will somehow materialize. But even if my wish is not granted, I do have a few tricks left up my sleeve that may keep things going.

I also have quite a few copies of the single 4th CD left (“Gifford CD”). If you are looking for an inexpensive Christmas gift for your friends, the children, or the grand children, you might consider giving them this CD. It is a treasure, beautiful music, and great performances—a part of your history. It is a bargain for only $12.29. I also have a few of the 3-CD box sets left at cost, and if you contact me soon, I can get them in the mail to you before Christmas, while they last.

I have enclosed in this notice an updated list of concert choir members from 1962-1969. I have written yes next to the names of choir members with whom I have already made contact. I have also enclosed the names of choirmates whom I have found who graduated before 1962. Are you in touch or know the whereabouts of any of the others? If you are, please let me know and have them contact me. Also, please let me know if you see any errors in my list.

I have gotten requests from choirmates for the e-mail addresses of old friends and choirmates. In the spirit of bringing people together, I would like to accommodate their wishes; however if you wish to remain “under the radar” let me know and I will not give out your e-mail address. I would only pass your e-mail address on to choirmates who are on my list. Finally, please let me know if you change your e-mail or snail-mail address, otherwise you might miss out on all the fun. On the other hand, if you have had all the fun you can take and want me to take you off my mailing list, just let me know. I won’t be offended, much.

Love,

Clifford Larkins ’67 Ph.D.
